Mark is the Founder and CEO of Music Glue. He was convinced as a kid that he was the biggest Iron Maiden fan in New Zealand, now he knows he was wrong. Oh well, he does get to run their e-commerce worldwide and also happily offers the same tools and pricing to 60,000 emerging artists. He is happy to share insights and advice to enable you to democratise the music industry and reverse the current state of ‘industrialisation of culture’ that exits (which is isn’t good for anyone, except the ultra-rich).
Matt Bartlett is the Managing Director at Midnight Mango; an established international booking agency with offices in Glastonbury and London. The artists we represent come from a variety of genres, with one common thread; they are all outstanding. We work tirelessly to represent our artists to event programmers the world over. We also programme a 5000 capacity festival called Chagstock, which is held on Dartmoor in Devon.
Kaptin is Head of Music for Boomtown Festival in the UK where around 700 artists from across 30 countries perform in a theatrical pop up city. He is a co-host on Ujima 98Fm's Super Soca Show and a DJ under the name AAA Badboy, playing at various clubs and festivals around the world and recording mixes for BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra among others.
Jim has operated as an independent music promoter in the North East since the mid eighties. Over the last 17 years Jim has concentrated his promoting efforts on outdoor events and he was Festival Director of the successful Evolution festival in Newcastle Gateshead. More recently Jim has been instrumental in establishing new brands such as the Northern Lights dance festival (2014) We Are Family (Hartlepool 2015) and Live at Times Square (2016) and This is Tomorrow (2018). Jim was instrumental in bringing the BBC 6 Music Festival to Tyneside in February 2015. Jim is CEO of Generator, the UK’s leading Music and Creative Digital Development Agency and head of Digital Union. Jim was a member of the DCMS sponsored Live Music Forum and chaired the sub group, which made recommendations to ministers on how the Live Music sector could be developed which resulted in the Live Music Act. Jim is currently member of the Music Export Growth Scheme, Creative Fuse North East and DDCMS Cultural Development Fund boards.
Steve has had a career that has encompassed touring, artist management, digital, catalogue and label management but being a publishing A&R is what he’s spent most time doing. He is known for working with artists such as Levellers, Snow Patrol, Belle & Sebastian, Rae & Christian, Kidda, Here We Go Magic, Luke Temple, Nadine Shah and song writer Johnny McDaid. Steve’s current position is at booking agency 13 Artists who represent artists such as Radiohead, George Ezra, Paulo Nutini, Royal Blood and Artic Monkeys. He runs 13 Artists Publishing where we are building a roster that already includes Vryll Society, Bilk, Shadowlark and Queen Zee.
Joe Dougan is promoter of Shine in Belfast. Shine's interests include venues such as The Limelight & The Telegraph Building in Belfast & The Academy in Dublin, as well as the annual Belsonic & Custom House Square outdoor events, and concerts from club to arena level across the city throughout the year.
Stephen Curran started in music as a press officer and promoter for the Limelight, before moving to Dublin to promote shows for MCD. He works with acts such as Mumford & Sons, Post Malone, Macklemore, James Blake, Run The Jewels and Anne Marie; and also runs the Evolving Music publishing company, looking after Hozier, Rodrigo Y Gabriela, Talos, Eve Belle and many more.
