ABOUT
Every year, we host a live music showcase on the evening of our conference, from 8pm - late across an array of Cathedral Quarter venues. We welcome 40-50 artists, representing a wide range of genres, to perform in a ‘music-trail’ format, so delegates can walk between venues, for free, listening to incredible talent from around Ireland.
Artists perform in front of an audience of local music fans, music industry experts and esteemed Output Belfast conference speakers who represent every sector of the music industry. This means the audience is made up of music journalists, artist managers, booking agents, label reps, publishers and music supervisors (to name a few) who have travelled from around the UK, ROI and beyond - including LA, New Zealand, Spain, Germany, Lisbon in previous years. As a result, over the past 8 years, our showcases have resulted in artists gaining endorsement from - and landing deals with - music managers, labels, publishing companies, sync reps, PR agents and more.

The lineup for our music showcase is curated by hosts, who are Music and Creative/Arts companies from around the UK and ROI. This means the artists who perform are chosen by the hosts, rather than Output Belfast. In their day-to-day work these companies help to grow and support music talent throughout Ireland. We believe this approach allows the wider music community to be reflected in the evening showcase lineup and helps bring artists from across all areas of Ireland to an audience here in Belfast.
Every showcase stage is hosted by two companies who both select 2 artists to perform on their stage, meaning each stage has a lineup of 4 artists. In previous years hosts have included: The Thin Air, Nialler9, Chordblossom, Sentric Music, PRS, IMRO, Oh Yeah Music Centre, Faction, New Champion Management, BBC, Girls Rock School NI, Third Bar, Evolving Music, Music Cork, AVA Festival, Help Musicians, Outside In, Quiet Arch, Start Together Studios, Cool FM and many more.

In 2020 we added the Output Belfast Emerging Music stage to our showcase. This stage is dedicated to showcasing brand new, emerging NI artists with the aim of providing opportunities to new local talent in music.
This year we are hosting our emerging stage once again, giving 4 emerging NI artists the opportunity to perform live at our showcase on 1st June 2023.
