Joanne Collins

Joanne Collins grew up in Bandon and studied Music and Languages at University College Cork. She qualified with an Honours degree in German, Music and a Post Graduate Diploma in Education. Joanne has been teaching German for the past 16 years and is currently teaching in Cork. In April 2011, Joanne founded Balcony TV Cork, an online music channel (featuring artists performing on balconies) in conjunction with John Hough (sound/video professional). As part of her role in Balcony TV Cork Joanne was responsible for scouting music talent, connecting with bands/artists, promoting musicians through multiple social media platforms and aside from scheduling and co-ordinating the film shoots, Joanne presented all of the shows (twice weekly) and uploaded all of the video content.

Apart from Balcony TV Cork, Joanne has organised a lot of gigs and events in Cork and West Cork. Joanne has arranged gigs as part of Cork Jazz Festival as well as Sherkin Responsibilities, a personal small scale boutique festival on Sherkin Island. Joanne also organised a world music radio show while a student at University College Cork.
